Description of Work:
This work will be performed for our client the Social Security Administration (SSA)
- The incumbent will provide analytical and technical support to enable design, development, validation, integration, and implementation for any upcoming projects.
- Provide critical technical recommendations/solutions for complex problems.
- Directs the business process reengineering efforts for major projects and contribute to technical and design discussions
- Provide technical documentation support.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities.
- Bachelor's degree and 14 years of experience or Masters and 12 years of experience in the IT industry
- 5 years of WEBFOCUS development experience
- 3 years of experience analyzing specifications, designing, developing and testing reports using WEBFOCUS (reporting tool), WEBFOCUS 7.7.3 and 7.7.6
- 3 years of experience of working with the Web Focus database including Masterfile/meta data development
- 2 years of developing reports using the FOCUS language and ability to debug code in FOCUS language
- 5 years of experience with Mainframe /COBOL CICS and JCL development.
- 3 years of experience working with Relational Databases including DB2/SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.
- Prior SSA experience a huge plus;
- Ability to quickly understand government specific architectures, existing and proposed and provide/propose solutions for technical problems and guide the SSA team.
- Ability to interface with the various information technology groups, as needed, for source-to-target mappings and reporting interfaces.
- Experience resolving production issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to interface with the client and manage customer expectations
- Experience with MS Office.
- Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Self-starter, highly motivated individual, and a team player who adapts to a dynamic work environment.
- Understanding and experience in architecting solutions leveraging Software Defined Networking capabilities
